There’s a great quote from one of the pilots, who said for the first few hours of flying, you would occasionally look across and shit yourself thinking you were about to collide with another aircraft.


Open the cockpit and shoulder your MANPADS for modular air to air engagement.

You jest, but with one pilot, you have a second-cockpit’s-worth of space for a retractable turret. Tethered rockets don’t mix well with airplanes though.

Bell is already working on a solution.

Obvious solution is to just jump off the plane, fire the rockets then airswim back into cockpit.
You can find plenty of examples of this in the Battlefield 3 documentary.
