Explanation: In WW2, the Japanese, near the end of the war, developed a… curious tactic wherein half-trained fighter pilots would suicidally ram their planes, packed full of explosives, into enemy ships - ‘Kamikaze’.

Also in WW2, the Brits packed an old, obsolete naval ship with explosives and set it on a collision course for a Nazi-occupied dry dock.
It was an explosive time.
