He peaked as Jordan Catalano in My So-Called Life, an intellectually stunted, emotionally empty symbol of naive adolescent desire. For some reason, he was really able to sink into that role.
I think he’s a repulsive person, but in my opinion he’s been electric in several roles, like Requiem and Panic Room.
His performance, if you can even stand degrading other actors and actresses by using the term with his name attached to it, in Bladerunner 2049 was a look inside his brain. That was Jared in 2049, not some tech overlord he was pretending to be.

To be fair, he “plays” a good creep. I don’t think he takes away from the movie, which is something, but I wish it didn’t give him employment.
Maybe he just showed up on the set one day, stabbed a lady in front of a rolling camera, did a creepy monologue about having billions of children, and then they wrote him a part around that so they wouldn’t need to stop production while a murder investigation was carried out.

My instinctive reaction is to say that I thought this was not the first accusations to break, but then I realize that must not be possible. So I think what I’m experiencing is the Least Possible Surprise at this news.
