Correction: in some parts, the tribes there had not lived there for thousands of years.
Like the Delaware tribe, which had a fair bit of contact with Benjamin Franklin. They were conquered and forced to move to the Ohio River valley by the Iroquois to make room for English colonialists on the atlantic seaboard.
Delaware Tribe: “Aw, shit, here we go again…”
That or “aw fuck not again”
In the middle of the war, there was an effort by some of the colonies(philly being one) that tried to reach a treaty with the Delawares and a few other of the nations under the yoke of the Iroquois which would have removed them from the war.
The Iroquois refused to let them sign the treaty so that they could remain the primary native power brokers to the English.
Do they have a flag?
Gah, you beat me to it!
Unfortunately the strategy didn’t work for the Colorado river tribes.
“You say this land is yours but when we shoot everyone you leave. Curious.”
Turning Point Jamestown
