Father of the famous author Alexandre Dumas, known for “The three musketeers” and “The count of Monte Cristo”.
Also briefly shown in Ridley Scotts abomination “Napoleon”, one of the few historical accuracies of the movie.
Edit: a typo and this clarification: I am not talking about Lee, in case that wasn’t obvious.
I thought that Lee’s statues were removed mostly because they were not really historical and had been installed after the passage of the Civil Rights Act by groups who openly admitted they were racist. But hey, that’s also a legit reason to take them down.
And he did all that while writing The Three Musketeers /s
While inventing the Monte Cristo Sandwich no less /s
Holy shit, I didn’t realize this guy is the father of the author by the same name! That’s one crazy family.
Also if you look at their photos on Wikipedia, those are some seriously strong genes. It’s like the same guy but with different facial hair. Wish there was a photo portrait of the first one to actually compare rather than a painting.
Don’t forget the “born as a slave” on the right.
Also, “The Three Musketeers”, written by his son, seems to be a recollection of some of his adventure, but put in a different epoch to avoid “being too political”
“Fought for his country despite not being viewed as equal”
idk if that’s a flex
Neither is helping Napolean but still a cool guy I guess
