Asuka Langley Soryu
She is Japanese-German-American, raised in Germany by her American father because her Japanese mother committed suicide.
She’s complicated on purpose.
…and technically any of those work for the answer! Germany arguably started a regional war, and America didn’t join until Japan attacked, and it wasn’t a world war until America joined.
American take: the war spanning 4 continents is not a world war because america is not part of it.

Probably just forgot about Canada’s involvement before the US and thought it involved 3 continents before the US joined.
