Explanation: Emperor Napoleon III of France, nephew of the more famous Emperor Napoleon I, did not have his uncle’s talent for command. During the Franco-Prussian War, Napoleon III attempted to take command of the French armies personally… leading to a humiliating defeat at Sedan, his capture by Prussian forces, the overthrow of the Second French Empire itself, to be replaced with the French Third Republic, and France’s loss in the Franco-Prussian War.
I’d argue that he wasn’t that bad. Battles in Second Italian Independence War, where he personally took part, were won by Franco-Italian coalition, even if last one was quite heavy on casualties (something his uncle was known for too).
It’s just that he should’ve stayed home in 1970 even if he had his uncle’s talent - his health was simply too shit at that point.
