If anyone’s curious, the major applications for these right now are lidar systems and interconnects in data centers and quantum computers. Though photonic computing is an active area of research that could become common in our lifetimes

Is ASML fucked now?
No. According to the article, at least, this technology is not best suited for that kind of chips.
Nope, they are at 8nm, 500 wafers/hr, this is 10nm. Good for a huge number of industrial chips in cars and appliances.
