Epic Games is hiring a Security Engineer to champion Linux anti-cheat

No way a solitary security engineer getting paid less than 250k is ever going to find the fix to solve hacking for Linux.
That’s like hiring a McDonald’s shift manager to solve world hunger.
Or an H&R Block tax preparer to solve tax loopholes for billionaires.
I still remember unreal tournament 3. They promised a Linux version so I prepaid then they cancelled it at the last second, refused to elaborate, the dev they paid was under NDA and then had the audacity to refuse refunds.
I have very little faith anything will come of this.
Kind of funny since they dont really do much to support Linux - EGS doesn’t have an official launcher for example..
This is good news: more compatible games. Remember, you don’t have to install it. I probably won’t…

Really? The guy who hates Linux? Colour me shocked.
Interesting. In my day we hired engineers to write code, not champion it. (They ask deep knowledge of C/C++, but it does not explicitly state the engineer is supposed to write code.)
