yeah we need domestic chip manufacturing finally, and also “domestic cloud computing” includes things such as running our own fediverse servers, if you consider “message processing / forwarding” a type of computing
Biggest down side will probably be users getting siloed within native countries. Making international services less useful, or altogether crippled.
