The Stockholm archipelago alone has over 24,000 islands, islets and skerries and covers approximately 1,700 km² of which approximately 530 km² is land.

Just get on a boat, go to an empty island and spend some time there. It’s great. Depending where you are, you might even be able to order pizza to be delivered by boat!

This does require you to have a boat though.

You can take public transport boats and visit some of the larger islands, of course. Another valid option is to rent a kayak and paddle around. Lots of fun to be had that way.

Exactly. This is like when they publish articles about ‘the best untouched beaches in x country’ and then within a year or two those beaches are swamped with tourists, or ’nice cheap neighbourhoods in x city’ which are then targeted by venture capitalists who buy up all the housing

Well, this is kind of at least partially the point as the article linked explains.

Dutch research recently showed birds brought pfas and other bad stuff into pristine nature when feeding their young because ecosystems are big. No way physically untouched nature means not influenced by humans nature.

I’ve been to a few of these (Skäckerfjällen/Kolåsen).

It’s a different kind of tourism for sure. Not exactly the kind of thing to draw the Instagram crowds
