Honestly, I really like the visuals in this teaser. I’m more excited for this now than I was before. It looks very cyberpunk.

Oh no. Not Amazon. They’ll just ruin this property like they did Lord of the Rings and Wheel of Time.
I think Blade Runner already got some mediocre web show or something like that. Didn‘t ruin the movies for me and neither will this thing. I sure am not going to watch it.
The 2099 just means they wanted to do something completely different, even with different technology and everything. It will be called Blade Runner but very likely have next to nothing in common with the original.
It‘s also Amazon. You know, the type of corporation that tries to remodel our world into the same dystopian vision of Blade Runner. The cynicism is too blatant for me to enjoy it even if it didn‘t suck.

The main character of Blade Runner should have a big beard, to signify that they are running from the blade.
not holding my breath. amazon has not a great track record. lots of “looks really neat”, but not a lot fo “has a great story”

This takes place 50 years after Blade Runner 2049. I can’t imagine Harrison Ford would be in it… at least I hope not.

In universe lore is that synthetics are pre programmed to die. They live very short lives. That’s like, the whole plot of the first blade runner.

Wouldn’t that make sense why the replicants in the first movie hunted him? To get them to live longer…. Like him perhaps?
Amazon can’t generally be trusted to not kill promising shows. I’ll wait until its run its course before I waste my time again.

Don’t get me wrong, Bladerunner is a classic, IMHO, and I’m excited about this one.

I worked with them once in the mid 90s, never again. I’m probably the only guy in the entire world they can’t buy.
A good friend of mine was a fairly senior dev for them in the 00s, and his stories alone were enough for me to avoid giving them any money at all. 🤢🥲
they’re HORRIBLE. for instance they would only speak to my boss, which would drive him mad. I was one of the graphics guys, we’d never have them talk to my boss, since we are the ones making the designs.
