OpenAI president Greg Brockman was Trump’s Super PAC’s largest donor in their latest year-end report. He and his wife donated $25 million to MAGA Inc last year, and CEO Sam Altman donated $1M to Trump’s 2025 Inaugural Fund. ICE uses OpenAI technology for recruitment. They’re cozying up to the White House while ICE is killing Americans and the Department of Justice is threatening to take over elections.

To be fair it was the Fox News AI which did that, which we must note according to the AI Law is not legally liable for incorrectly representing reality and does not necessarily represent the views of any of the owners or staff at Fox News unless in cases it aligns with their objectives in which case it does. The Fox News AI can also serve jail time as it is sentient and thus legal action against illegal misrepresentation and journalistic malpractice by Fox News management can be focused on the Fox News AI leaving all other personnel free to continue to contribute to the job market while justice is being served.

My partner surprised me with a Yuto Omura’s Japanese cuisine cookbook. I’ve been trying his recipes from his site (https://sudachirecipes.com/) and YT channel for about a year now. Every single recipe of his I tried has been an absolute slam dunk, sometimes helping me solve a particular recipe I’ve been trying to dial in for years (or decades). “Hm, sure, I’ll get around to buying his cookbook at some point.”

I personally havent really used emacs for organizing, but I really like it for bash coding and writing software documenation in orgmode. I am even starting to get a little bit comfortable at writing my .emacs file but at some point I will have to do a lot of reorganizing and updating and I kind of dont want to do it (I still use .emacs and not emacs.d/init.el and all keybindings still use the legacy global-set-key command).

The director of national intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, has mismanaged a whistleblower complaint involving Jared Kushner and Iran (salon.com)

Community iconc/politics@sh.itjust.works by
pelespirit@sh.itjust.works

I’m surprised that no one has pointed out that since she and her general counsel were subjects of the complaint, Gabbard and her office have a clear conflict of interest in making any determination. This made it clearly inappropriate for them to have played a substantive or even a procedural role in its handling. This is spelled out under a number of different authorities, including executive branch ethics regulations, which cover the DNI, and intelligence community constraints.
